Theme: Disabilities - A Blessing, Not a Divine Punishment

Welcome to the 10th Abloom Film Festival (NOV 21 – NOV 27 – 2021)

We are delighted to invite you all to take part in our 10th Abloom Film Festival in Oslo – or online this November. Abloom encourages participation in and invites you to join us at our International reception November 23rd in Oslo city.

Once we have more details about the program – we will of course update our website and social media. Do not hesitate to contact us by sending an email to post@abloom.no. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Also, we invite you to like our Facebook page – where you also can contact us.

Our theme this year is Disabilities – a blessing, not a divine punishment. The reason for selecting this as our main theme for this year’s festival is to mark the end of a three year long project to break taboos about disabilities.

Since the start of the organization, Abloom has observed that taboos, delusions and superstitious theories affect people with disabilities. Especially in some minority environments there may be strong perceptions that disabilities are divine punishmnets. The cultural and religious background of these groups and individuals propagates to new generations. Abloom takes no position in theological questions, but we fight for the everyday life and future of the disabled. Read more about the project by clicking here.

You are all of course invited to take part in all our events during AFF 2021, but we advise you that all other events than the International Reception are designed for a Norwegian speaking audience.
