Abloom children’s jury

The first ABLOOM PRIZE given by a children’s jury with special needs and the Minister of Culture and Equality Anette Trettebergstuen was given to director Yawen Zheng for her film KIKO AND THE ANIMALS (orig. title: “Kiko et les animaux ) / 2020 / 7 min 30 / France-Switzerland / Prod. : Folimage-Nadasdy Film.

The very first Abloom Jury consisted of 4 children with special needs and with a minority background
and was handed over 25.11.2022 in Oslo.

Requirement for participating films

The requirement for the films for participation to the competition were:

  • film should deal with diversity issues
  • easy to comprehend plot
  • maximum length 10 min.
  • suitable for a young audience

Distribution of Abloom prize

The Abloom-prize was given out on 25. November on Saga cinema by Ablooms children jury and the Minister of Culture and Equality Anette Trettebergstuen.

”Kiko was first bad, but later became nice to the animals. The film told us to treat the animals well,
because they are like us. The music and the drawings were good.”
