This year’s theme is “Norwegian Literature – a missing mountain of literary gold!”

Abloom will establish a close collaboration with Norwegian authors and cultural institutions, with a focus on Norwegian literature as an undiscovered mountain of literary gold. The upcoming festival in 2024 takes this literary effort to new heights. Under the theme “Literature for all”, we want to help spread knowledge and joy about Norwegian literature through film and various activities with a focus on children and young people with disabilities and their relatives. We believe it is high time that everyone, regardless of background, gets access to the rich heritage of Norwegian literature and experience full inclusion in literary environments and society in general. We believe in the power of a diverse literary culture to enrich our intellectual landscape and strengthen society’s cohesion.

Since 2012, Abloom has been working on attitude change campaigns aimed at breaking down taboos that exist in society. Abloom has cultivated role models with disabilities. Today, they front disability. This suggests that our meeting places are one of the most important methods as an engine and impetus for the movement of the disability. Abloom has been involved in intersectionality since its inception, and the methods we have adopted are about safeguarding diversity. For Abloom, the most important thing is to embrace everyone with a disability, regardless of their background. And you, remember that ALL children and young people with disabilities should be valued, seen and heard!
