Program kommer snart!

Allow everyone, regardless of their functional ability, to participate in society without facing the physical and mental obstacles that shut them out. For us at Abloom, it is important to enable children and young people with special needs to unfold together with their peers. That is why we arrange this sports day which is special in the following way:

  • The children enjoing themselfs with physical activity, while at the same time getting an introduction to how the activity can be adjusted, so that everyone can join in.
  • Our partners have special expertise in inclusive sports and fun, and they provide instructors for the children on this day.
  • We run quizzes to spread knowledge about Universal Design for kids. Inclusive activity is good for everyone, but absolutely necessary for some.

We will have many different activities where having special needs becomes a strength, something you can compete and be active with – and no longer sit on the sidelines. This year we cooperate with Norsk Orienteering, NFF Akershus, the Foundation VI, the Golf Federation, Stovner sports club and Beitostølen Helsesportssenter! We are always interested in taking in new activities and adjusting the program.

Some of these activities are:

  • Wheelchairs and special bikes (races and more)
  • Athletics
  • Golf
  • Orientation
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball

NOTE! More activities will be added, and some may be delisted if there is a need to adjust.

Each Mini Abloom has a specific theme that allows children and young people to gain more knowledge and increased awareness of disabilities. This happens in an educational and fun way for the children. At first the festival was at Tøyen, but in 2018 we expanded to Stovner/Rommen. We had 650 participants at Mini Abloom in 2018 and had a visit from deputy mayor Kamzy Gunaratnam. In 2020, Abloom welcomed Norway’s first virtual film festival and activity day. The theme was “right to participate in organized sports arenas/outdoor activities”. The activity day was about the inclusion of all children, regardless of background, in organized sports, and where everyone gets the opportunity to participate in physical activities. These are children who often have low participation in organized sports, and who very often lack positive role models.

Parts of the film festival were held online as a result of the pandemic in 2021. Both film screenings and registration took place online. In addition, the measure was intended to contribute to the dissemination of information about Covid 19 among children.
